The Mancunian Way Trailer - Draft 1

Below is a video of my trailer for The Mancunian way. It is only a first draft as I plan to edit and improve on my work from feedback from my peers.

When it came to editing my trailer, I found the storyline gave to much away and that is the opposite of what a trailer should do as it needs to 'entice' and make the audience want to tune in and watch the show to find out what happens.
For this reason, I edited the order of my storyline by deleting clips and changing the shot order. This not only made my trailer more realistic but it made it unique from the others in my group.

Positives of my trailer -
  • Storyline has improved from planned
  • Trailer is short and keeps the audience engaged

Negatives of my trailer -
  • There are no transitions - fade to black, pan in etc.
  • No music over the trailer - beats need to match action and relate
  • Storyline is still unclear
  • Need a voice over at the beginning - 'This week on The Mancunian Way'
  • Some shot are unsteady
  • Edits need to be sharper and quicker
  • Need to be sponsored by...

  1. some framing issues with some shots and shots are unsteady when it would be neccessary. Dialogue is clear to hear, and there is a good variation of shot selections.

  2. You need to change the 'made in chelsea' because ours is called mancunian way! Good storyline, makes sense, too the point. Some framing issues but we need to sort those out

  3. Storyline is easy to follow and get what is going on, the non diegetic sound 'made in chelsea' needs to be changed as our trailer is called 'mancunian way'. some shots are shaky but will work well when we re-shoot them, and will flow with the order you have placed the clips.

  4. You could do with a voice over at the start on the ITV 2 introduction. The trailer is based on Made In Chelsea which is on E4 your introduction is ITV 2. During scene 1 the camera is not steady and the framing is wrong. You could do with some music to keep the audience interested. You have used a variety of shots which keeps the audience interested and the sound is clear

  5. Great feedback guys! I agree. Most of the edits are nice and sharp, I can tell that when the soundtrack is in place it will look professional. With reshoots to correct camerawork and sound this will be v good :)
